CHICO, CA – The coming weekend is a special one for racers and race fans alike at Silver Dollar Speedway. It’s two big days of racing that culminates with the annual Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial on Saturday night at the competitive quarter-mile oval located on the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds. Today, Handy Racing Promotions and the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds announced that racers, fans and teams will be permitted to camp for free on the grounds in the coming days for this special pair of events.
It all starts on Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway with the second night of the 2010 Feather Falls Casino Championship season presented in part by Hoosier Tires, Coors Light, Pepsi Cola and Riebes Auto Parts. Friday’s event will feature the 410 cubic inch sprint cars together with the Dirt Solutions Late Models, ASCS Midgets and the exciting Hunt Magnetos Wingless Shootout Series.
On Friday night the gates to Silver Dollar Speedway will open at 6 p.m. with racing beginning at 7 p.m. Friday night prices are as follows: adult tickets will be $12.00, juniors and seniors $10.00 and Children will be $5.
On Saturday night, the firebreathing sprint cars of the Golden State Challenge Series will make their first appearance of the year here for one of the most coveted events on the annual campaign for 410 sprint cars- The Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial.
The Annual Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial is a key element of the Golden State Challenge Sprint Car Series as racers and fans gather to remember the late legend of sprint car racing that lost his life behind the wheel far too soon. Silver Dollar Speedway was one of Bradway’s favorite tracks, it was a place he loved to race and a place where his fans loved to watch him do so. Saturday night, his legacy continues in one of the tracks most prestigious annual events.
On Saturday, the front gate will open at 5 p.m. with racing beginning at 6, followed by heat races at 6:30. Adult tickets will be $17, Juniors will be $12 and childresn $5. It’s expected that many of the Golden State Series competitors will be in competition on Friday night as well to prepare for Saturday’s very special event.
Fans and teams are encouraged to spend the weekend with Silver Dollar Speedway by uniting on the grounds for good times that are fun for the whole family. Best of all, this weekend it is free of charge courtesy of Handy Racing Promotions and the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds as they thank all of the dedicated fans and teams for being so patient with the delayed start to the 2010 racing season in Chico following the soaking wrath of Mother Nature recently.
