Chad Blonde opened the 2010 season at Butler Motor Speedway by capturing the feature victory. Blonde took the lead from Gregg Dalman on lap 15 and pulled away from the rest of the field driving a second car for Sean Robinson.
Gregg Dalman and Dan Hall started on the front row of the 25-lapfeature. Dalman took the lead into turn one with Hall, Blonde, and Aaron Smith in pursuit. Dalman opened up a straightaway lead until encountering lapped traffic on lap eight and allowed Hall, Blonde, and Smith to close.
Things began to unravel for Dalman on lap 10 when his car began to slow in turn one. Dalman regained power and held onto the lead, but his pursuers closed dramatically. Then on lap 15 Chad Blonde powered around the outside of Dalman to take the lead. One lap later Dalman came to a stop in turn four and dropped out of the event.
After the restart Blonde motored away from the rest of the field. Ken Mackey made a late race charge to move up to the second spot. Hall, Robinson, and Mark Aldrich rounded out the top five.
Mackey, Mark Broughman, and Robinson won heat race events for the 28 car field. Chris Jones won the B-Main event. In the third heat race Ken Quimby took a wild tumble off the track between turns three and four and landed near the woods. Quimby emerged from the car uninjured.
