Wednesdays with Wayne – Coming Home!

Wayne Johnson
Wayne Johnson

By Bill W

July 28, 2010 – Yesterday, Wayne Johnson received good news at the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. He is free to go home! The Knoxville, Iowa resident was released from the hospital late last week, but was advised to stay in the area until yesterday, when he had a check-up. He has been staying at the Bergman household in Snohomish since, and is thankful for the family’s generosity.

The plan is to board a commercial flight from Seattle to Kansas City tomorrow. The Johnson’s purchased two seats for Wayne, so he can keep his legs elevated during the 3 ½ hour flight. He will then ride in a vehicle from Kansas City to his home in Knoxville.

Wayne is also very appreciative of the cards, e-mails and calls he has received from the racing community. He was able to visit Travis Rilat yesterday at the hospital and was pleased to see the progress he is making in his recovery. Still, it will still be a long road. Please keep the Rilat family in your thoughts and prayers!
