Newberrytown, PAย (October 5, 2010) โย The 6th Annual Candy Bowl presented by J&K Salvage of York will be held on Saturday, October 30.ย ย This event will feature the wingless ARDC Midgets, 600cc Micro Sprints, Sportsman Modifieds, Legends Cars, Byers Tires Thundercars and Mini Vans.ย ย Before the midget feature begins, the cars and drivers in all divisions will be brought to the frontstretch for the children in costumes to trick or treat.ย ย This will also be a great opportunity for everyone to visit their favorite drivers to get pictures and autographs.
The 600cc Micro Sprints will pay $750.00 to the winner (no entry fee).ย ย The Thundercars race is presented by Byers Tires and will pay $500.00 to the winner.
The Sportsman Modified race was postponed in August.ย ย The rules will follow the generally accepted Sportsman Modified rules throughout local tracks in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.ย ย The 20-lap feature will pay $1,000 to the winner.ย ย The 12 Sportsman Modified drivers that attended the August 1 event will be guaranteed starters for the feature event, provided they attempt to qualify through the normal qualifying process.ย ย The event is open to any new Sportsman Modified entrants.
Gates will open for the pit area at 12:30 p.m. and grandstand area at 1:00 p.m.ย ย Track Prep Laps begin at 2:15 p.m. with racing action beginning at 3:00 p.m.
General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Saturday night are Adults (ages 18-59) $15.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $13.00; Children (10 & under) are free.ย ย Pit pass prices are $25.00.ย ย The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 12 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 12 to 14.ย ย ย ย The raindate for the Candy Bowl will be Sunday, October 31, with the same time schedule if needed.
