With the state of Florida being the focal point of the sporting world over the next two weeks, it seems only appropriate that the World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Series begins its 32nd season in the Sunshine State with possibly the most competitive collection of teams in short-track racing.

Riverside, California’s David Cardey, 2nd place finisher in the 2009 USAC/CRA Championship point standings, announced on Monday that he will be fielding a car for himself to race in the series at Perris Auto Speedway in 2010 and that he is looking for a ride for out of town races.

The season in the States is underway for the Big Game Treestands #24 team and its driver, Terry McCarl.

Racing in a shortened schedule for 2009 did not slow Smokin Joe Ramaker as the Boise, Idaho driver raced to five main event wins leading in 8 of the 11 main events competed in and winning 7 qualifying heat races.

Eight time New Zealand national champion Allan Wakeling won the prestigous “Gold Cup” event this past weekend, completing a two night sweep of racing in his XXX chassis.
