Eight time New Zealand national champion Allan Wakeling won the prestigous “Gold Cup” event this past weekend, completing a two night sweep of racing in his XXX chassis. At Ruapuna Speedway in New Zealand, Wakeling won Friday night’s “Salute to Goodie” race after leading the final eight laps. “Wako” then followed it up by taking the lead on lap eight of Saturday night’s “Gold Cup”, becoming the only driver to have won that race twice.
