TULSA, Okla. (January 6, 2011) – The schedule is set for the American Sprint Car Series Gulf South Region, which is set for its tenth year of premier Sprint Car racing action throughout the southern portion of Texas and beyond in 2011.
The 2011 ASCS Gulf South slate currently consists of 26 nights of action at ten different tracks throughout Texas as well as Louisiana and Mississippi.
The ASCS Gulf South begins its tenth year of action at Beaumont’s Golden Triangle Raceway Park on March 4, with the Fourth Annual Gulf Coast Nationals the following night at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX. The Golden Triangle event marks the first of six Beaumont stops, with another pair of events to follow at Battleground, including the season championship finale on October 1.
Other familiar stops back on the Gulf South slate include Lufkin’s Speedarama Raceway, Willis’ Gator Motorplex, Edna’s Texana Raceway Park, Waco’s Heart O’ Texas Speedway and Baytown’s Houston Raceway Park.
The ASCS Gulf South Region is also set to return to Chatham, Louisiana’s Jones Motor Speedway for the first time since 2008. That July 3 event follows one night after the first Gulf South card at Jackson, Mississippi’s Jackson Motor Speedway.
The Gulf South forces also take on the ASCS Lone Star Region on the final weekend of July, with events at Waco’s Heart O’ Texas Speedway on the 29th and then Mesquite’s Devil’s Bowl Speedway on the 30th.

The 2011 season marks the 20th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series, which brings the best of Sprint Car racing to approximately 100 different tracks throughout 30 states and Canada.
