Charles Hudson of Rockingham, N.C. has been named USAC’s new Eastern Coordinator of Developmental Racing Series.

In his new role, Hudson will oversee USAC’s Eastern Ford Focus operations as well as assisting with other USAC racing endeavors in the southeast.

Hudson comes to USAC with a history of motorsports involvement, including a three-year stint from 2007-2009 as public relations coordinator for Rockingham Speedway. His duties there involved management of the track’s media center and its related activities plus involvement in the track’s marketing and advertising programs.

A graduate of East Carolina University in 1994 with a degree in business administration, he has participated in the ARCA Stock Car ranks as a driver and car owner, was an official for six years with the NASCAR Nationwide Series (1989-1995), served as media coordinator for Jeff Gordon’s Pepsi program and as hospitality coordinator for DuPont Motorsports. He subsequently was senior field manager for Pepsi and Mountain Dew Racing, worked with Sunoco’s motorsports program and managed the Hendrick Motorsports Pizza Hut account.

His expertise in the area of teaching the importance of media, marketing, sponsorship and public speaking fundamentals will serve him well in his new role with USAC.

“It’s great to have a man with Charles’ credentials as part of our developmental program,” says USAC Developmental Racing Series Director James Spink. “We’re fortunate to have him on board and look forward to his creative ideas and expertise.”
