โ SEDALIA, Mo. (March 28) โ Theyโve had plenty of time to wait.
On Saturday, Arnold Motorsports opens the 2011 campaign at a familiar track โ 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., with the NCRA.
Miranda and Haley Arnold have fond memories of the 3/8th-mile oval, where they each recorded a top-10 finish last October.
โIt was a fun little fast track,โ said Miranda, a 15-year-old from Sedalia, Mo.
Miranda ended in eighth and 18-year-old sister Haley placed 10th in the season finale. However, their heat race was the most memorable experience in their inaugural visit to 81 Speedway.
โMiranda and I started side by side,โ Haley said of the heat race. โIt was kinda cool that we started on the front row.โ
Haley led all but the final two laps of the heat race before finishing second.
โShe ended up getting the lead on that one,โ Miranda said. โPretty much we were nose to tail the whole race.โ
They return on Saturday intent on opening the season the right way.
โDue to unexpected circumstances, the cars werenโt race ready for the original opener,โ said Haley, who planned on debuting March 19 at Malden Speedway in Malden, Mo. โNow we are 100 percent ready to go. Weโre prepared to go hard.โ
