ROSSBURG, OH (April 28) – Not all competition at Eldora Speedway takes place on the famed clay racing surface.

One of the more intense battles actually occurs in the adjoining Eldora Ballroom, as up to 25 girls compete for the title of Ms. Eldora Speedway. This year’s edition, the 6th annual, will be contested on Thursday, June 9; as it is sandwiched between Wednesday’s (June 8) Prelude to the Dream and that weekend’s (June 10/11) Dirt Late Model Dream.

For reigning queen Lauren Stewart and her court of Jennifer Warnecke and Laci Burns, June 9 will mark the end of their sovereignty over Eldora Speedway, and open the doors to a new team of royalty.

Getting underway at 7:30 PM, the Ms. Eldora Speedway pageant includes three phases of modeling, in various forms of dress, by the applicants, along with impromptu questioning and the presentation of a prepared speech. Each of these phases is scored by a panel of celebrity judges, with the outcome announced that evening.

In addition to representing Eldora Speedway in victory lane, the two winning queens participate in trade shows and assorted other appearances. A cash prize of $2,000 awaits the top vote getter, while the runner-up receives $1,000 and the alternate collects $250.

Applications and event guidelines may be downloaded from the speedway website (www.eldoraspeedway.com), or may be obtained by calling the Eldora office at (937) 338-3815 during normal business hours.
