Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway will be in action two times during the upcoming week and weekend leading up to the Memorial Day holiday.
The speedway hosts the 5th annual Keystone Cup for 410 sprint cars on Thursday, May 26 at 7 PM.
The event is sure to attract all of the top names in area sprint car racing with $5,000 up for grabs in the 30-lap main event.
Thursday’s leg of the Keystone Cup series is the second date of the six night series in the midstate.
After Grandview on Wednesday and Port on Thursday, the series moves to Williams Grove, Lincoln, Selinsgrove and Big Diamond Speedways.
To date this season at the Port, six sprint car races have produced six different winners with Blane Heimbach, Ryan Taylor, Steve Buckwalter, Greg Hodnett, Justin Henderson and Lance Dewease taking the checkers.
Mike Erdley is the defending Keystone Cup winner at Port Royal.
Pro stocks will join the sprints on the Keystone Cup card.
The speedway then comes back on Saturday, May 28 with A Salute To The Military, honoring members of the armed services both past and present.
Adult General Admission for the night has been lowered to $14.00 with a $2.00 discount being afforded to any past or present members of the military who provide military identification or who come to the races in uniform.
On tap May 28 will be the second appearance of the season by the 358 sprints along with AB Auto Glass late models, 305 sprints and a pair of enduro dashes including a held over dash from May 21.
Pat Cannon won the first show of the year for 358 sprints at Port Royal in March.
