– Park City, Kansas – June 13, 2011 – If what has transpired the past nine races holds true this coming Sunday night, you will not want to miss this one. Be sure to make plans now to attend the “Hoosier Daddy” Father’s Day Special featuring the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Smiley’s Racing Products sprint car division at 81 Speedway in Park City.

It will also be the annual “Steve King Foundation” night at the speedway with all day activities planned to help benefit the non-profit organization.

Five races have been completed thus far on the 2011 race season at four different venues with five different winners having reached victory lane. In fact, dating back to last year, there has been nine different race winners at six different race tracks. 75 different drivers have also competed in at least one of the five events held this season.

But there is one driver who doesn’t meet the criteria but yet will come into Father’s Day Sunday as the series point’s leader. Second generation driver C.J. Johnson of Quinter, Kansas holds a sixty-five point lead without even having reached victory lane. It will be the first year in several that Johnson has attempted a run at the NCRA sprint car championship.

Jon Freeman of Salina, Kansas is second in the point standings while former five-time series champion Garry Lee Maier currently sits third, 75 points out of the lead. Defending series champion Jeremy Campbell or Wichita is fourth in the point standings, 85 points behind with Jason Martin of Liberal sitting in the fifth position.

“The Dude” Danny Lasoski of Dover, Missouri kicked off the 2011 race season by getting the best of a series record 59 drivers. He also became the sixth different series feature winner at the speedway dating back to the 2009 race season.

Rookie Ryan Roberts of Aurora, Nebraska outlasted the field at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kansas to pick up his first career series victory before Maier opened up a three race, Memorial Day weekend swing at RPM Speedway in Hays, Kansas with a victory. Two nights of Steve King Memorial action at the Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, Kansas saw Jack Dover of Lincoln, Nebraska and Broken Arrow, Oklahoma’s Brady Bacon take home feature wins.

Over forty drivers from across the Midwest are expected to compete for the special $3000 first place prize and the chance to become yet another different feature winner on the tour.

Several special attractions are planned for the day and evening with all proceeds benefiting the Steve King Foundation. For more information on all events, which includes a steak dinner, carnival rides for the kids, a bean bag tournament and more go to the new official NCRA website www.racencra.com.

Adult general admission is just $15 for race night, which begins with heat races at 7:00 PM. The series’ modified and Great Plains late model divisions will also be competing, which will be the first in the tracks history.
