From Keith Butler
This weekend the KJ Motorsports Team competed in Top Gun Sprint Car Series at the Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida.
During the first practice, the car was a little loose and the engine felt a little flat. The team changed the gears and stagger.
A total of 25 cars showed up for the event. The 25 cars were broken up into 3 heat races. Keith started 5th in the second heat. Keith found that the engine was still a little flat, but he was able to get up to a 4th place finish.
After the heat, the team changed the fuel system and took some more stagger out of the car.
Keith started 12th in the feature. The feature only had one red flag and two cautions. Keith was feeling a little better with the car although the engine still was flat and would not turn over 6000 R.P.M. He moved up to 7th. With not many cautions and the field getting strung out, there were not many opportunities to mount a pass. Tyler Godwin took the victory with Danny Martin in second, Robbie Smith third, Sport Allen in fourth and Matt Kurtz finished in fifth. Keith finished in 7th.
Keith also won the KSE Hard Charger of the Race Award.
KJ Motorsports will next compete on the asphalt, with the TBARA on July 30th at DeSoto Speedway in Bradenton, FL.
