AKRON, Ohio (Sept. 26, 20110 – Jason Meyers collected his fifth World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series race of 2011 and Joey Saldana won twice as the Meyers added to his championship points lead.
Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for the rear wheel positions on the Outlaws cars. Goodyear supplies tires for touring series across the country as well as for many of the top weekly sprint car programs at tracks in the nation.
Meyers won at Learnerville Speedway while Saldana won at Eldora Speedway and at Hartford Speedway.
Meyers’ victory was just ahead of Donny Schatz, who is also second in the standings. Sammy Swindell was third, followed by Jason Sides and Kraig Kinser.
Saldana won at Hartford Speedway, his first win since suffering an injury during the summer. Meyers finished second, followed by Craig Dollansky, Tim Shaffer and Schatz.
Saldana’s second win of the week came after he posted the best lap during qualifying. Paul McMahan was second, followed by Meyers, Dale Blaney and Craig Dollansky.
Meyers leads the standings with 7,887 points. Schatz is second with 7,740 and Steve Kinser is third with 7,722.
