– Midwest City, Oklahoma – February 4, 2012 – The 23rd consecutive season for the National Championship Racing Association sprint car division has twelve races slated at eight different venues in three states during the 2012 race season in a schedule that has recently been released.
It all kicks off on Saturday night, March 31st in the season opener at the home track of the series, 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas as Hoosier Racing Tires and Sunoco Race Fuels presents “The Spring Thunder” in a special $4000 to win, $400 to start event. This stop will be the first of five on the season at the speedway.
The next event will be a return engagement at the speedway on Saturday night, April 28th.
Then to kick off the Memorial Day weekend on Friday night, May 25th, it will be the second annual “Sprint Car Maynia” at RPM Speedway in Hays, Kansas. It is the only event slated on this Holiday weekend.
The third appearance of the year at 81 Speedway will take place on Sunday, June 17th for the second annual “Hoosier Daddy” Father’s Day special which will see the series modified division also competing.
The series makes a big one night appearance at the 56th annual “Hutchinson Grand Nationals” atop the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas in an event that will pay $3000 to the nights feature finale winner.
It will be a double-dip weekend on July 21st and July 22nd as the series makes their fourth appearance at 81 Speedway. One day later it will be on to Enid Speedway in Enid, Oklahoma in the tours first visit to the Garfield County Fairgrounds in several years. Both events will be “Steve King Foundation Night” which will make the first such event in Enid.
The tour will make their annual appearance at the beautiful Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kansas on Saturday night, August 11th before making their ninth annual appearance at Mid-Nebraska Speedway in Doniphan, Nebraska.
On Friday night, August 31st the tour will kick off the Labor Day weekend with their second and final appearance of the year at RPM Speedway before hitting the high banks of Belleville on Sunday night, September 2nd.
The 2012 season for the NCRA sprint car division will conclude on Saturday night, October 6th at 81 Speedway and if this race season is like the past several for this event, the battle for the series championship could be decided here.
The upcoming 2012 race season will be the 42nd consecutive for the Park City based National Championship Racing Association, which sanctions five different racing divisions in a four state area. Other divisions the series sanction include late models, modifieds, southern sport modifieds and the new 305 sprint car division.
