– Bud Kaeding took advantage of a midweek race at the Silver Dollar Speedway on the Fourth of July as he powered to his nation leading 10th win of the season.
Timing in sixth quickest, Kaeding would ultimately find himself on the front row of the feature event alongside Joey Magurah.
Taking the green flag, Kaeding motored away from the field aboard his K&N Products/SCI/Kaeding Performance machine and checked out.
Kaeding was never seriously challenged during the 25-lap main event as he was simply in his own zip code all night long, as he notched his 10th win of 2012 keeping him atop the national leader board.
“It’s awesome getting back to victory lane in Chico, CA,” said Kaeding. “We don’t get a chance to race up here often, so it’s nice to run well and win when we get too.”
Kaeding’s weekend didn’t go as well as his mid week run, as he was plagued with bad luck both Friday and Saturday night.
He was in action on Friday night for the USAC/CRA running of the Howard Kaeding Classic at Ocean Speedway Watsonville, and a broken steering arm knocked him out of contention very early in the feature event.
Saturday night, Kaeding was in action at Santa Maria Speedway with the USAC West Coast 360’s for ‘The War at the Shore,” and that’s just what it was.
While running the top five, Kaeding was looking to get into the fourth spot, and contact between him, Eric Rossi, and Hamblin, forced Kaeding’s BZE No. 29 machine to the back of the field.
Kaeding showed his strength from the back as he worked his way up to the 10th spot at the finish line.
Kaeding would like to thank Kaeding Performance, Sprint Car Innovations, Alviso Rock, BZE, Factory Kahne Shocks, Racing Optics, K&N Filters, Yak Graphics, ButlerBuilt, and Brown and Miller for their continued support.
