AKRON, Ohio (July 16, 2012) – Bill Balog and Brooke Tatnell waged a wheel-to-wheel struggle for two nights and Balog won both the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw sprint car series races over the weekend.
Balog won the races at both Rice Lake Speedway (in Rice Lake, Wisc.) and Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wisc.) and Tatnell took second both times.
The IRA Outlaw sprint car series races on Goodyear tires. The tires Goodyear supplies for the IRA program come from the same line of tires Goodyear supplies the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and other top touring sprint car programs across the nation. In addition, Goodyear is the title sponsor for next month’s Goodyear Knoxville Nationals, the most prestigious race for winged sprint car racers.
At Fountain City, Balog and Tatnell finished ahead of Travis Whitney, Mike Reinke and Bill Wirth.
At Rice Lake, Balog won for the ninth time this season. The race was run without a caution period and was competed in less than seven minutes. Tatnell, Phillip Mark, Tommy Sexton and Scott Uttech completed the top five finishers.
