– Tommy Tarlton is simply in the zone right now at the Ocean Speedway Watsonville, and the Easton, CA driver doesn’t seem to be slowing down as he picked up his fourth win of the season at the facility on Friday night and his fifth overall.
Starting on the pole for the 30-lap feature event, Tarlton shot out to an early sizeable lead over second running, Nick Green.
The Terminator seemed to be in a league of his own as he led the first six laps only to have the red flag wave on the sixth lap erasing his large margin.
Withstanding three more stoppages, Tarlton was never flawed as his Corporate Lending America/Tachii Palace and Casino/Sharp Insurance machine was on rails and set up to perfection, and he cruised on to pick up his fourth win at the scenic, Santa Cruz County facility in 2012.
“I can’t say enough about Paul Baines,” Tarlton said. “He gave me a great car, and I had some fun tonight. This track is awesome, and the fans are awesome, and they really make this fun to do.”
On Saturday night, Tarlton made his season debut at the Placerville Speedway in Placerville, CA.
It was a rare appearance in Northern California for Tarlton, but he made it very entertaining for on lookers.
After timing in 20th quickest out of 22 cars, Tarlton simply had his work cut out for him.
Starting scratch on the field in his heat race, Tarlton would put his Bandy and Associates/Pro Signs/BG Lubricants backed entry on the cushion and work up to the third spot, giving him the direct transfer into the feature event.
Lining up in the 18th spot, Tarlton planted his right rear on the tricky Placerville Cushion and worked his way through the field to perfection.
Able to keep himself out of harms way, The Terminator was able to work his way all the way up to the fourth spot as the checkered flag waved.
“We timed in horribly, but we raced very well,” Tarlton said. “We went out early, and the track just kept getting better. It was pretty cool to race with my teammate, Carson Macedo towards the end of the feature and it was pretty cool to see him finish third.”
Tommy would like to thank Corporate Lending America, Tachi Palace and Casino, Sharp Insurance, Bandy and Associates, Pro Signs, BG Lubricants, K&N Products and Astro Titanium for their continued support.
