Ft. Morgan, CO. (July 28, 2012) – Keith Rauch, after coming off an dominating performance at Phillips County Raceway the night before, continue to “stomp out” the competition of the USA Engine Performance “A” Feature at I-76 Speedway in Ft. Morgan, CO Saturday night.
A great field of midgets and great track conditions greeted RMMRA competitors. Mike Boesel, driving the Alpine Carstar, Boesel Ent. Stealth/Esslinger started on the pole with Keith Rauch in the IMM, Peterson Fluid System Spike/Mopar on the outside, front row. Boesel brought the field to the green to start the 20 lap USA Engine Performance “A” Feature and took the opening lap with Rauch following. On lap two, the first of three cautions came out for Todd Plemons stalling after contact in turn 4, ending his night. After the restart, Boesel led until lap four when Rauch passed him for the lead. Then on lap eight, the second caution came out for Cory Mallo spinning out in turn one. On the restart, Rauch continued to lead with Chris Sheil, Boesel and Chris DeShon following. On lap thirteen, the third caution came out when Sheil made contact with DeShon between turns three and four ending Sheil’s night. After the restart Rauch continued to lead. When the checkered flag dropped it was Rauch, DeShon, Bob Harr, Mike Boesel, and rookie driver Jay Sant rounding out the top five positions.
Heat race winners were Mike Boesel, Keith Rauch and Mark Chisholm.
