AZTEC SPEEDWAY hosted 21 NMMRA Sprinters Sat. evening and NMMRA 2009 Chanpion Ronnie Smith piloted his #19 FLASH AUTO ride to the 20 Lap Feature WIN, his 2nd WIN in 2 Weeks. Coloradian #29o Patrick Bourke drew the Pole & lead the 1st 18 Laps & Smith, who started 10th, moved into 2nd with 5 Laps to go. They came upon a lapped car with Bourke going High but it was the low grove that then gave Smith the Lead. They were followed to the Checker by No 62 Bill Mitchell, No 2 Stephen Nix, #16 Tom Ball, No 4L Kristy Smith, Cortez, Co’s #13 Glen Brace, No. 57 Austin Mansfield, Arizona’s #53 Tom Lee and Californian Stunt Man #16x Tom Harper. No 16 Ball won our 1st Heat over Bourke, No 73 Nick Real & Ronnie Smith. No 62 Mitchell wired the 2nd Heat from his outside Pole start ahead of Kristy Smith, No 27k Tim Knight, Jr. & Harper. The 3rd Heat was wired by AZTEC’s No 18 Asa Kesterson from A. Mansfield, No 29 Randy Smith and Nix. Again a hugh Thanks to Mike Tenski and his AZTEC SPEEDAY Staff.
Ronnie Smith has increased his 2012 Points Lead, now 21 ahead of Ball 288 to 267. Following them – Mitchell 249, Nix 242, Randy Smith 205, Austin Mansfield 183, Cody Mansfield 158, Jason Tanner 153, Jon Taylor & David Burns 148 and TOP 10 Newcomers – 9th Kristy Smith 133 and Glen Brace 130 Points.
