Clio, Michigan (Monday, August 13th, 2012): Both races that were scheduled for 19-year-old Trevor Berry over the weekend of August 10-11th were rained out as Mother Nature paid a visit to both Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan on Friday, August 10th for a regular show and again on Saturday August 11th at Angola Motorsport Park in Angola, Indiana for the next race on the Top Speed Fabrication Modifieds Tour.
So now with some unscheduled downtime and adequate time to mentally prepare for his next race, Berry is focusing on the biggest race of his young career at the ¼ (0.250) mile semi-banked paved oval of Spartan Speedway, located south of Lansing in Mason, Michigan this Friday, August 17th as Berry merely needs to take the green flag in the Non-Winged Sprints Feature and he will lock up the Overall Track Championship!
The 2012 Rookie of the Year title already belongs to the Clio, Michigan driver as he has recorded five Feature Wins in his rookie season behind the wheel of a Non-Winged Sprint Car out of the Fedewa Motorsports stables in seven starts at Spartan. His Car Owner, Tom Fedewa was the 2011 Track Champion and went undefeated during his championship run a year ago.
“The whole family is really looking forward to this Friday. We’ve worked really hard all season to accomplish our goal of winning Rookie of the Year and we are one race away from officially doing that plus winning the championship!” The Clio, Michigan rising star stated. This season has really been amazing. I drive for one of the best family’s I’ve ever met in the Fedewa’s and I couldn’t have asked for a better season. Now we just have to seal the deal!” He added.
Once the Non-Winged Sprints titles are captured, Berry is not resting at all as he’s also chasing after another title, this one in the Top Speed Fabrication Modifieds Tour as the series’ next stop is at the legendary ½ (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana for a 50-Lap Feature that is part of the tracks’ Old-Timers Weekend.
“I am really anxious to get back to Winchester. It is my favorite racetrack by far and if I wouldn’t have made some rookie mistakes last year I think we could of had a top three finish no problem.” Berry continued. “I have the best Crew Chief in the game and I know we will have a good car and I can’t wait to be at the high banks of Winchester again!” He ended.
For the rest of the 2012 racing season, Berry’s #7 Non-Winged Sprint Car from the Fedewa Motorsports stable as well as his #7 open-wheeled Modified with a Port City Racecars chassis has sponsor decals on each machine from; Extreme Indoor Kart Racing, Rat-Tech Engine Service, Davis Racing Equipment, Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, Go Pro Cameras, Monogramming by Martha, Andrea’s Place Styling Salon, and M.P.H.
