From WSS
Fresh from his record-breaking fourth Knoxville 360 Nationals victory, American Superstar Shane Stewart and Monte Motorsport have committed to the full 2012/13 World Series Sprintcars schedule.
Stewart’s racing career spans 2 decades, highlighted by over 100 feature race wins, including wins in major series across Australia and the USA.
After joining the 2011/12 WSS season in Brisbane for the Australian Sprintcar Open (finishing seventh), Stewart recorded a string of strong WSS results for Luch Monte’s team, highlighted by a victory in Manjimup and second in Bunbury. He then went on to capture the Scott Darley Memorial in Sydney, the Krikke Boys Shootout in Bunbury and placed 4th in the WA Sprintcar Championship at the Perth Motorplex.
Currently competing in the USA, Stewart has strung together an impressive stretch of racing, including winning his fourth (and third consecutive) Knoxville 360 Nationals title, and finishing sixth in the 52nd Annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals, both a part of the Southern Iowa Speedweek.
Stewart’s career includes a host of notable victories and championships, including 4 Knoxville 360 Nationals victories, multiple ASCS National Championships, World of Outlaws feature race wins, a Canadian Nationals Championship, a 2010 Warrnambool Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic victory, multiple Rookie of the Year Awards and much more.
When the WSS season blasts off on Boxing Day at South Australia’s Speedway City, Stewart will once again attempt to capture the World Series Sprintcars crown; the Oklahoma native finished 5th overall in 2003/04 and 3rd the following year while driving for Bill Mann’s Performance Wholesale team.
