FRANCIS CREEK, Wisc. (Sept. 4, 2012) – Bill Balog is closing in on his fifth straight Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprint Series championship.
Balog won his 15th race of the 2012 racing season when he finished first at 141 Speedway. The win was also the 42nd of his IRA career, making him second on the all-time list of series winners.
Balog and the other IRA racers compete on Goodyear Eagle bias-ply tires. The tires Goodyear supplies the IRA come from the same line the company produces for the top touring series in the winged sprint car business.
Balog took the lead on the 10th lap of the race after starting fifth. He was not headed. Scott Neitzel finished second, followed by Mike Reinke, Mike Kertscher and Tommy Sexton. The starting field included 22 cars.
