J&J AUTO RACING TEAMS EARN WINS ACROSS THE COUNTRY

From J&J

McKENZIE, TN – On dirt ovals both large and small, from California to Texas to Wisconsin to Ohio, J&J Auto Racing teams were victorious in Sprint car races. Donny Schatz picked up a pair of World of Outlaws wins in California, while Mike Kertscher rolled to victory in the $5,000-to-win Jerry Richert Memorial in Wisconsin. DJ Foos won a thriller in Ohio and Kevin Ramey picked up another triumph in Texas.

WORLD OF OUTLAWS

Donny Schatz and his Tony Stewart Racing team have turned up the heat on the competition in the World of Outlaws. Schatz raced the No. 15 STP sponsored J&J to victory last Thursday in the opener of the 59th annual Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif. Schatz led the final 10 laps to pick up his eighth win of the season. He followed that with a fourth-place and second place finish the next two nights in Chico. Sunday, Schatz dominated the 25-lap feature event at Calistoga Speedway leading every lap. He closed the week with a second-place run at Antioch Speedway.

“We had a really strong run through California,” Schatz said. “Winning is what we are out here to do. The STP guys are on attack mode right now. The car has been working great everywhere we’ve been lately. I’ve been able to qualify in the top-five just about every night and that’s been a big plus.”

CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY

Mike Kertscher capped a perfect night at Cedar Lake Speedway leading every lap of the $5,000-to-win Jerry Richert Memorial. He started Captain Jim’s Yacht Sales No. 80k J&J from the pole after qualifying 11th and finishing third in his heat. When the feature started, he took the lead at the green and never looked back.

“I have the best sponsors and team and family and this win is for them tonight,” Kertscher said. “It is always a challenge to start on the pole and lead every lap and win because you never know what’s happening behind you. This is a very special race for me to have won because Jerry was a great person, and I am honored to have won this race in his memory.”
The victory Saturday followed an impressive second-place run on Friday night in the IRA event at Superior (Wisc.) Speedway.
FREMONT SPEEDWAY
DJ Foos won Saturday night’s Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprint feature by taking the lead on the white flag lap in the No. 11F J&J. It was his fifth win of the season at Fremont and 10th overall.
“I could never have dreamed of a season like this,” said Foos. “I told the guys earlier today that I was tired of getting second and third…it’s time to win. My brother (Matt) was on the back stretch and that last yellow he gave me the signal that it was time to make something happen. I gave away one championship this year (Attica) so I’m focused on taking this one at Fremont.”

COWTOWN SPEEDWAY
Kevin Ramey was victorious on Saturday night at Cowtown Speedway in Texas behind the wheel of the No. 1a J&J. Ramey started on the pole and raced away from the field in the RaceSaver Sprints division.
