Calistoga, CA — (October 16, 2012) — A strong driver roster and a great list of activities will greet fans for the 75th Anniversary Commemorative 360 Sprint Car race, October 27 at Calistoga Speedway.  The one-night-only special event on the half-mile dirt oval will award more than $50,000 in prizes to competitors including $7,500 for the winner.

The entry list has already attracted top talent from across the Western United States, with nearly 25 paid entries by press time.  Headlining the entries is Clovis’ Jason Meyers, the 2011 World of Outlaws champion.  Meyers retired from the World of Outlaws earlier this year but has made limited appearances in 2012 including a fifth place finish at the Knoxville Nationals.

Another driver with a great 410 resume who will mount a 360 is Chico’s Jonathan Allard.  JA was crowned the 2012 King of the West champion on Saturday at Kings Speedway in Hanford and also ran 13th in the Knoxville Nationals.  2012 Silver Dollar Speedway champion and Gold Cup preliminary winner Sean Becker of Roseville and 2012 Placerville Speedway and Civil War Series champion Andy Forsberg of Auburn have also filed entries.  NASCAR Nationwide Series regular Brad Sweet of Grass Valley is entered in Rod Tiner’s #83 car.

St. Helena’s Rico Abreu tops a list of local talents that so far will include Calistoga’s Mike Benson, Pope Valley’s Jeff Parady, Sebastopol’s Geoff Ensign, Penngrove’s Chase Johnson, and Rohnert Park’s Brett Rollag.

Saturday’s races will be augmented by activities taking place throughout the Napa County Fairgrounds.  A “Lunch with the Legends” has been scheduled that will include Meyers, LeRoy Van Connett, Brent Kaeding, Mike Andreetta, and Sparky Howard among others.  Starting at noon, for $35 fans will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch with the legends, get autographs and share stories.

The popular wine and beer tasting will be back in force, with a sampling of great Napa Valley wines and a variety of Mark Stein Beverage beer selections.  A $15 ticket includes the tasting and your choice of a souvenir wine or beer glass.

For the full VIP treatment, race fans can participate in the “Lunch with the Legends”, a VIP pit tour with the Legends, wine and beer tasting, and receive a reserved ticket for the grandstands.  Parking passes are included in this $100 special offer.

Reserved seating is on sale online now for $45.00 in the covered stands.  The uncovered bleacher seating will be general admission at $25.00 for adults.  General admission for kids 12 and under will be free.

Race fans and local businesses can also participate in the race by making a tax-deductible donation.  Donation amounts range from $100 to $500 and include admission, parking passes, and recognition in the souvenir program.  Information on how to donate to the 75th Anniversary Commemorative Race is available online as well.
