FRIDAY – WINTER NATIONALS OPENER
Jeff Swindell put together a nearly flawless performance in Friday’s opener of the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV 39th annual Winter Nationals. Swindell earned the FSR Radiator HIgh Point Award following the five heat races and then drew the pole for the 25-lap A-Feature. He set the pace early in the No. 94 J&J before nearly spinning on the second circuit. He retook the lead on lap three and led the way for the remaining 22 laps to pick up his third ASCS victory of the season.
SATURDAY – WINTER NATIONALS FINALE
Swindell started Saturday’s 30-lap A-Feature third in the No. 94 J&J. After dropping back to fifth early on, the Tennessee driver would begin working his way forward. It was on lap 18 when he raced past Gary Wright to grab second and then turned his attention to leader Danny Lasoski. A caution flag on lap 29 gave Swindell one last shot at victory. A green-white-checker finish would determine the winner and Swindell was able to get under Lasoski as the two headed to the white flag and he led the final circuit to complete the weekend sweep.
