With one final race on his 2012 schedule, Andy Gregg and his GUTS team headed to the Calistoga Speedway for the Calistoga Speedway 75th Anniversary Commemorative Race celebration.
With one of the richest purses in California on the line, Gregg kicked his night off by timing in the 7 Industries/GUTS/Ervin Sales backed entry in ninth quickest against a very star studded field.
Starting in the second row of his heat, Gregg would score a third place finish behind Jason Meyers, earning a spot in the 30-lap feature event on the track he claimed second at earlier this season.
With the eight pill being drawn for the feature inversion, Gregg would line up in the second row behind Sean Becker and Carson Macedo.
The start of the race was hampered by a few yellows, and a very somber red flag, and Gregg found himself in the fifth spot.
On a lap four restart, Gregg slipped back to the sixth spot as he got into a heated battle with the 57 car being piloted by Kyle Hirst.
As the race drew to a close, Gregg would hold the sixth spot as his 2012 season came to an end.
“First off I’ve have to send my thoughts and prayers to Tyler Wolf and his family,” Gregg said. “Anytime you lose someone in the racing community it hits close to home, and I wish them the best through this trying time. That makes the race tonight look so miniscule, but I have to thank everyone who helped the 53 car out tonight, and who helped all season.”
Andy would like to thank 7industries.com, GUTS Racing, Ervin Sales Group, Autism Awareness, Pro Shocks, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, The Air Tool, River City Alarm, Poor’s Equipment Repair, K and T Fab, Brown and Miller, Tarvin Images, C&R Racing, Amerikote, Meyer Motorsports, and Hinchman Racing for their support during the 2012 season.
