(Gardena, CA, November 8, 2012) After two straight wins at the Ventura Raceway, Greg Alexander and the Eric Rickard Motorsports Team are looked upon as one of the favorites when the seaside oval closes the 2012 season with the running of the prestigious All Coast Construction Challenge this Saturday night, November 10th. Spectator gates will open at 3:00 PM and racing will commence at 5:30.
When the 23-year-old Gardena, California resident last appeared at Ventura on October 27th, he finished second in his heat race and dominated the 30-lap main event leading every inch of the way. It was only his second appearance with the brand new 777 Chassis and he has victories each time out.
“I feel good about our chances heading into the All Coast Construction Challenge,” the up and coming racer said. “This is a good team and I am very happy with our new 777 Chassis. With no other races going on Saturday, there will be some extra cars and drivers showing up. It is going to be a great race.”
After Saturday’s race the 2012 season appears to be over for Alexander. However, the driver is open for anyone who may have an open seat for the 72nd running of the Turkey Night Grand for the Mopar USAC National and Western Midgets at Perris Auto Speedway on Thanksgiving night. Last Friday and Saturday Alexander competed against some of the best sprint car racers in the world at the 17th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals at Perris Auto Speedway. Driving the Chuck Tyler Motorsports #72, he qualified 27th out of 44 cars on Friday. He was eight in his heat and seventh in the 21-car B main. On Saturday, he timed in 20th out of 36 cars, took fourth in his heat and eighth in the first semi.
