(January 8, 2013) — After a couple seasons of testing the waters at local racetracks, the Ontario Topless Sprints are ready to kick into high gear with an aggressive 2013 schedule that will consist of five stand-alone OTS events, and several co-sanctioned events with the Michigan Traditional Sprints and the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series.
The 2013 season will get underway with an action packed weekend at South Buxton Speedway on Saturday, June 15th and on to Humberstone Speedway on Sunday, June 16th. Just a week later, OTS teams up with the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series for a Saturday, June 22nd date at Pittsburgh’s Penn Motor Speedway. The OTS-BOSS will continue with a co-sanctioned event at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania as part of the Independence Day Weekend celebration, and another pair of co-sanctioned events at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio on July 6th and August 17th.
On September 13th and 14th, the Ontario Topless Sprints will join the Michigan Traditional Sprints for the Great Lakes Nationals at Crystal Speedway in Crystal, Michigan before finishing out the season with three stand-alone OTS events, including two at Brighton Speedway during Applefest Weekend on Friday September 20th and Saturday, September 21st.
Tentatively, the inaugural OTS champion will be crowned at South Buxton Speedway on Saturday, September 28th in the final event of the season. All OTS events, including the co-sanctioned events will be OTS points races and will count towards the overall championship.
“We are very excited about our schedule for 2013”, says OTS President Ken Bayliss. “We are looking forward to returning to South Buxton and Humberstone, and adding some new tracks to our schedule. “We are thrilled that we will be able to crown the first ever OTS champion at the end of the year”.
