Tampa, FL — (February 23rd, 2013) — When the dust finally settled this evening at East Bay Raceway Park near Tampa, Florida, it was certain that Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native, Danny Holtgraver, was the new ‘King of the 360 Sprints,’ and the 2013 ‘Ronald Laney Memorial’ champion. The pilot of the B&R Racing, Canton Erectors, Berlin Natural Bakery, no. 45 ‘360’ sprint car controlled tonight’s 40 lap main event; rallying from a second-row starting position to win the 12th Annual ‘Ronald Laney Memorial’ $10,000 top prize. The five-digit payday is the largest of Holtgraver’s young career thus far, and will most likely not hold that record for long. Tonight’s ‘Ronald Laney Memorial’ finale was the third and final evening of competition for the ‘360’ sprints at this year’s East Bay Raceway Park ‘Winternationals.’
“This is incredible…this team really deserved this win!” said Holtgraver, “We have been working so hard and nobody has given up…we struggled some at Bubba Raceway Park as well at at Volusia Speedway Park, but this team never stopped…we kept pluggin’ away at it and proved to ourselves that we are capable of winning…we certainly proved that tonight…I can’t thank Brian Kemenah enough because he does such a great job with these race cars…my owners Rob Hunter and Bryan Grove have given me a huge opportunity…everybody involved plays a huge part..can’t wait to do it again!”
Danny Holtgraver gradually found himself higher and higher in the result column as the weekend rolled on. The B&R Racing ‘45’ team, lead by chief wrench, Brian Kemenah, kicked-off their weekend at East Bay Raceway Park by finishing 8th in Thursday night’s ‘King of the 360 Sprints’ preliminary A-main event. The team would move on to Friday, February 22nd, and secure a second consecutive solid effort; finishing 5th in the 25 lap, $1,500-to-win, ‘King of the 360 Sprints’ preliminary main event after starting from the eighteenth position. The ‘King of the 360 Sprints’ weekend at East Bay Raceway Park would obviously conclude with Holtgraver capturing the 12th Annual ‘Ronald Laney Memorial’ worth $10,000.
“It has been a really fun weekend” expressed Holtgraver, “We slowly made our way to the top and it feels really good…the level of competition here this weekend is top-notch…I don’t think I could have pictured a better way to end this weekend, and our trip to Florida!”
Danny Holtgraver and the B&R Racing operation will now pack up and head back north to familiar territory; where they will regroup and slowly prepare for the rest of their 2013 season. The team plans to run the entire 2013 All Star Circuit of Champions schedule; as well as be in competition at many other local, regional, and national level events. More information relating to Danny Holtgraver and B&R Racing’s upcoming schedule will be released soon.
