Lebanon, MO — (April 5, 2013) — After finishing last year as the runner-up in the Wingless Auto Racing points chase, Mitchell Moore started 2013 on the right foot with a win at Midway Speedway Friday night.
After leading the first lap, Aaron Kuhn looped his car in turn two leaving Eric Todd, Dustin Arnall, and Rusty Dukes with no place to go. The incident would end the evening for Todd and Arnall.

On the restart, Moore took the lead over Taylor Walton and Josh Stephens. The lead trio would remain this way over the first eight laps with Chad Goff in the hunt as well. By lap nine, Walton and Stephens had a close battle for second and by lap ten, Goff made it a three car battle. Goff was able to slip by Stephens for third and on lap twelve, the action would be stopped for a Steven Cross spin in turn two.
Once restarted, Moore continued to lead Walton, Goff, and Stephens. With fifteen laps in the books, the yellow came out for a PJ Grimes spin in turn four.

On the restart as the leaders came through turns three and four, Jeff Wingate got a strong run. With most drivers using the bottom as the preferred line, Wingate got into the back of Stephens and spun to a stop in turn four ending his shot at a top five finish.

Moore again led on the restart as Goff and Stephens would work their way by Walton over the last few laps. Peter Palazzolo saw his bid for a top five finish come to a halt as he lost power and coasted into the infield on lap eighteen.

Moore went on the win in the Kelly Potter-owned Eagle with Denny Moore power. Goff, in his WAR debut, ran a strong second in the B&D Racing/Kercher Racing Engines XXX. Stephens was third in the Stephens Automotive/Summers Farms Eagle with RMS power. Walton was fourth in the John Hillman Gambler with Hillman power. After starting sixteenth, Kevin Whitworth was able to work his way into the top five in the Hockett Racing Maxim with RMS power. Brad Ryun was sixth with Matt Fox seventh. Austin Alumbaugh, Cross, and Chris Desselle rounded out the top ten.

John Helm was the Keizer Wheels fast time award winner. Winners of the Schure-Built Suspensions heats were Todd, Walton, and Moore.
