Pittsburgh, PA — (April 15th, 2013) — Danny Holtgraver of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania made his 2013 Lernerville Speedway debut on Sunday afternoon, April 14th, for the 30-lap, $3,000-to-win, ‘Steel City Stampede’ finale for the ‘410’ sprint cars. Although Danny Holtgraver is the full-time pilot of the B&R Racing no. 45 ‘410’ sprint car owned by Bryan Grove and Rob Hunter, the former Lernerville Speedway Track Champion decided to bypass driving the ’45,’ and instead, use the Sunday afternoon ‘Steel City Stampede’ program to debut his 2013 Danny Holtgraver Motorsports ‘D4’ machine. The first start of the 2013 season for the Danny Holtgraver Motorsports, Kargo Quality Sales and Storage, Alternative Power Sources, Ambulance Information Management, ‘D4’ machine would result in a podium finish.
Holtgraver would finish second (2nd) in the 30-lap, $3,000-to-win main event for the ‘410’ sprint cars on April 14th; battling with Dale Blaney through tricky daytime racing conditions, and periodic lapped traffic, to earn the runner-up finish. The full-time UNOH All Star traveler in 2013 started the main event from the outside of the front row. Dale Blaney, the current UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions point leader, was the ‘Steel City Stampede’ feature polesitter; and the $3,000 winner.
“We always have fun at Lernerville Speedway” said Danny Holtgraver, “We knew we had a good shot of winning that race because of our starting position…it’s just tough because we basically went into that show blind…no hot laps and no heat race…we basically had to guess everything, but we were happy with how things went…Dale Blaney is tough to beat on a slick track like that…he is one of the best in the business…it was a fun race so hopefully the fans enjoyed it!”
Danny Holtgraver will be back in action next Friday and Saturday, April 19th & 20th, behind the wheel of the B&R Racing, Canton Erectors, Berlin Natural Bakery, no. 45 ‘410’ sprint car. With the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions still on break until their Williams Grove Speedway (PA) and Port Royal Speedway (PA) road trip on Friday and Saturday, April 26th & 27th; Danny Holtgraver will use the upcoming ‘off-weekend’ to gather more seat time and experience. The B&R Racing operation, lead by veteran Crew Chief Brian Kemenah, has potential plans to spend the upcoming weekend in northwestern Ohio competing in the Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title presented by KS Sales & Service (F.A.S.T.) openers at Attica Raceway Park (4/19) and Fremont Speedway (4/20). Each F.A.S.T. event will attract some of the finest ‘410’ sprint car teams from northwestern Ohio and the surrounding areas; including the B&R Racing ‘45.’ For more information on the upcoming Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title presented by KS Sales & Service events, please check out the series’ official online home at http://www.blackswampgraphics.
“If the weather holds up, we’ll be racing at Attica and Fremont this weekend” explained Holtgraver, “We want to get as much seat time and track time as possible before the busy part of our All Star schedule begins…it’s tough during this time of the year with the weather being uncooperative…hopefully we’ll get to race two times this weekend before heading out to Central Pennsylvania next weekend with the All Stars…I can’t thank this B&R Racing team enough…Brian Kemenah does a great job with these race cars….Bryan Grove and Rob Hunter have given me a great opportunity…everything is starting to come together and that’s a great feeling.”
