Eric Riggins, Jr., wasn’t to be denied on Friday night racing at Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, N.C. The Charlotte native and 2010 USCS Southern regional series Rookie of the Year led all 30 laps of the main behind the wheel of the No. 47 J&J. He was followed by Derek Hagar (No. 9jr J&J), a two-time USCS winner in 2013, and ten-time USCS champion Terry Gray in his No. 10 J&J. During the early portion of Saturday’s USCS main event at Toccoa Speedway, it looked like Eric Riggins, Jr., was going to make it a weekend sweep. Reigning URC champion Robbie Stillwaggon (No. 89 J&J) had other thoughts and raced past Riggins (No. 47 J&J) on lap 14. Riggins and Lance Moss (No. 23 J&J) kept the heat on until the end, but Stillwaggon would not be denied. Riggins and Moss were followed by Morgan Turpen (No. 10m J&J) and Terry Gray (No. 10 J&J), giving J&J Auto Racing the top five finishers.
WORLD OF OUTLAWS – KINGS SPEEDWAY
Donny Schatz put together a complete evening behind the wheel of the Tony Stewart Racing No. 15 STP/Armor All backed J&J. He qualified third in the field and finished third in both his heat and the dash. In the 35-lap A-Feature, Schatz jumped from third into second on the opening lap and grabbed the lead on lap three. Despite nine cautions, Schatz remained patient and despite losing the lead on a couple of restarts, drove back to the front each time. He grabbed the lead for good on lap 24 and went on to claim his second WoO A-Feature of 2013 and 126th WoO A-Feature triumph.
“It was fun to have a good enough car to go around the race track in perfect condition to be able to go on the top and the bottom all the way around the whole track,” Schatz said. “It was fun, but it was definitely not an easy win.”
Schatz followed Friday’s victory with a third-place finish Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway in southern California.

Adam Kekich came out victorious in the 305 Sprint 15-lap feature portion of the DIRTcar Round Up Steel City Stampede. Kekich led from the start in the Lagastee Racing No. 5 J&J and was able to withstand a pair of cautions and a red flag to capture the victory.
In the 410 Sprint car feature, Danny Holtgraver finished second driving his family-owned No. D4 J&J. Holtgraver battled Ed Lynch, Jr., (No. 2L J&J) for the runner-up position during the race with Lynch taking the spot halfway through the race. Lynch looked to be closing on the leader, but couldn’t avoid a lapped car and ended up spinning. Holtgraver made a late charge for the win, but ended up finishing second.
