Pittsburgh, PA — (April 22, 2013) — The UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions will return to competition this Friday and Saturday, April 26th & 27th, for the first time since their ‘Spring Nationals’ appearance at the Attica Raceway Park back on March 30th. Danny Holtgraver, who is a full-time traveler with the UNOH All Stars in 2013, will follow the series east for their two-race weekend in the ‘Keystone State.’ The invading UNOH All Stars will battle head-to-head with perhaps the nation’s most competitive, and most notorious, weekly ‘410’ sprint car competition. The weekend will see ‘America’s Series’ take part in events at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday evening, April 26th; before heading further north to the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania on Saturday evening, April 27th, for the $10,000-to-win “Bob Weikert Memorial.” Both events will count towards ‘Eastern Region’ and ‘National’ All Star points. Danny Holtgraver, and the entire B&R Racing, Canton Erectors, Berlin Natural Bakery, no. 45 team, will enter the weekend not only excited, but confident.
“We like going to Central Pennsylvania.” explained Danny Holtgraver, “Central Pennsylvania is home to some of the best local sprint car competition in the country…these guys are going to be tough all weekend long…you learn so much racing with the ‘Pennsylvania Posse’ and every time we go back there, we do a little bit better…hopefully this B&R Racing program is on point this weekend…if you can race with these guys, and win, that says so much about your team…if things go our way, I think we can have a solid weekend at The Grove and Port Royal.”
Danny Holtgraver heads into the UNOH All Star weekend fifth (5th) in the ‘National’ UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions’ standings. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native, who has three career UNOH All Star wins to his credit, will also enter the weekend ninth (9th) in the current UNOH All Star ‘Eastern Region’ standings. Holtgraver will roll into ‘The Grove’ on Friday evening with a rather successful history with the UNOH All Stars in Central Pennsylvania. The pilot of the B&R Racing ‘45’ finished 14th at the Williams Grove Speedway last April during the UNOH All Star invasion. Holtgraver would then turn around and earn a career-best runner-up finish at the Port Royal Speedway during the 2012 edition of the “Bob Weikert Memorial;” sanctioned by the UNOH ASCoC. Dale Blaney enters the weekend on top of the current UNOH All Star ‘National’ standings.
“We had a pretty good run with the All Stars last April in Central PA” said Holtgraver, “We ran top 12 or top 15 at Williams Grove Speedway which was really respectable considering the company that we were in…we turned around and finished second at the Weikert race the following day…it was just a real solid weekend for the entire team.”
After their upcoming weekend in ‘Pennsylvania Posse’ territory comes to a close, Danny Holtgraver, and the entire roster of UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions competitors, will take a weekend off before returning to action on Friday and Saturday, May 10th & 11th; when the series invades the Lernerville Speedway (PA) and Mercer Raceway Park (PA). Holtgraver is a former All Star winner at both Western Pennsylvania ovals and looks forward to returning to his ‘home territory.’ The former Lernerville Speedway Track Champion does have one win to his credit in 2013; but coming outside of All Star competition. Danny Holtgraver earned the ‘King of the 360’s’ top prize at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida this past February. The win was worth $10,000.
“I can’t wait to get racing again” said Holtgraver, “This team works so hard during the off-days and during the week…I can’t thank Bryan Grove and Rob Hunter enough for this opportunity…they are great owners and Brian Kemenah is a great crew chief and motivator for this operation…hopefully we can make things ‘click’ this weekend and find victory lane!”
