USSA and Must See Racing See Cooperation as the Right Path for Pavement Sprint Car Racing

From USSA

(Lebanon, IN)

The Pay Less Little 500 is a point race for USSA and a Special Event for Must See Racing with the Must See Group serving as the lead sanctioning body.  USSA is racing in cooperation with Must See Racing.

The two sanctioning bodies each sanction pavement sprint car racing. The USSA Sprint Car Challenge Series Built by the UAW races without wings while the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series competes with wings.  While the two series compete for dates and teams, their approach is sport first.

“We are taking the approach that what’s good for the sport and business of pavement sprint car racing is good for both USSA and Must See,” says USSA Vice President Eric Bunn.  “The Pay Less Little 500 is bigger than either of us, so it’s in the best interest of the sport for USSA and Must See to work to make it successful.  A great Pay Less Little 500 event helps energize the sport, the fans, and the competitors which we all need to succeed,” emphasized Bunn.

We look forward to cooperatively working with USSA to significantly contribute to the business and sport of sprint car racing. For many years Must See Racing and Rick Dawson of Anderson Speedway have had a strong and successful working partnership with the MSR events and national television programming that has added value and entertainment for race fans. USSA designating the MSR sanctioned Pay Less Little 500 as a points event is a cooperative effort to continue and grow the racing entertainment for what many call the most entertaining race in the world, The Payless Little 500,” stated MSR founder and president Jim Hanks

The cooperative approach seems to be working, with Must See Racing bringing a winged car to Anderson Speedway during the Glen Niebel Classic, USSA’s 1st Sprint Car Challenge Series Built by the UAW event, to promote their May 22 Anderson race.  The Niebel Classic featured a very strong field of highly competitive non-wing cars and good on track action.

The Pay Less Little 500 early entry features a strong list of drivers and teams, including Dave Darland, Bobby East, Tony Hunt, Jerry Coons Jr., Glen Niebel Classic winner Aaron Pierce, past winners Shane Cottle and Brian Tyler along with many more fan favorite drivers.

The 65th Running of the Pay Less Little 500 is Saturday May 25.  For ticketing information see www.andersonspeedway.com
