Pittsburgh, PA — (May 6th, 2013) — Danny Holtgraver found victory lane for the second time in 2013 this past Saturday evening, May 4th, at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania; picking up the 25-lap, ‘410’ main event victory during ‘Saturday Night Live!’ weekly competition. The pilot of the B&R Racing, Berlin Natural Bakery, Canton Erectors, Alternative Power Sources, DKW Transport, no. 45 ‘410’ sprint car would hold off lap-after-lap charges by fellow UNOH All Star traveler, Cap Henry, and former Mercer Raceway Park ‘410’ Sprint Car Track Champion, Eric Williams, for the Mercer victory. The win was Holtgraver’s first during ‘410’ sprint car competition in 2013. The first-year driver of the B&R Racing ‘45’ earned his first victory of 2013 back in February during ‘360’ sprint car competition at the East Bay Raceway Park near Tampa, Florida.
The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native kicked-off his recent weekend in Western Pennsylvania with a runner-up finish at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania on Friday evening, May 3rd during ‘Fab Four’ weekly competition. The former Lernerville Speedway ‘410’ Sprint Car Track Champion actually lead a vast majority of the 25-lap, ‘410’ sprint car main event on Friday night at the Sarver oval; but would surrender the lead to eventual winner, Cap Henry, during the white flag lap. Danny Holtgraver remains winless at the Lernerville Speedway oval so far in 2013, but will have an opportunity to change that statistic this weekend.
“Feels great to get a win!” said Danny Holtgraver, “This team works really hard and they really deserved this win…the year has been really up and down for us…we have had our highs and we have had our lows….but nobody gave up…each night we figure out what we need to do to make us better and forget about the results… it’s obviously starting to pay off and we are having fun again…I can’t thank all of our sponsors and supporters enough…Bryan Grove and Rob Hunter have been behind us one-hundred percent and I can’t thank them enough…hopefully we can go back to Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park this weekend for the All Star shows and repeat success!”
Danny Holtgraver, and the B&R Racing ‘45’ team lead by veteran crew leader, Brian Kemenah, will be heading back to Western Pennsylvania this Friday and Saturday, May 10th & 11th, for two more rounds of ‘410’ sprint car competition; only this time, with a little more on the line. The UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions will be invading the western half of ‘The Keystone State’ this weekend; bringing with them a large lineup of nationally known competitors such as Tim Shaffer, Dale Blaney, and Danny Holtgraver. The ever-popular traveling ‘410’ sprint car series will roll into Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania on Friday night, May 10th; followed by an appearance at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania on Saturday, May 11th. Both UNOH All Star programs will feature a $5,000-to-win main event. Danny Holtgraver is a former UNOH All Star winner at the Lernerville Speedway, and currently owns three (3) total UNOH All Star victories.
Holtgraver, who is a full-time traveler with the UNOH All Stars in 2013, will enter the upcoming weekend fourth (4th) in the current UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions ‘National’ standings. The upcoming Western Pennsylvania swing will not only award points towards the ‘National’ standings, but also the ‘Ohio Region’ standings. Holtgraver currently rides fourteenth (14th) in the respective ‘Ohio Region’ point chase. “The upcoming weekend should be a lot of fun.” explained Danny Holtgraver, “We have a lot of momentum on our side now so hopefully we can use that to our advantage…I know Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park very well and we have a really solid history there…hopefully we can race at those two tracks this weekend and get two wins for our hometown fans, supporters, and sponsors.”
