Having a very strong, and consistent start to his season, Tommy Tarlton broke through on Saturday and scored the Rebel Cup Series win at the Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA on Saturday night.

Timing in third quickest, Tarlton got through his heat race where he lined up on the outside of the front row for the 30-lap feature alongside Steven Tiner.

When the green flag dropped, Tarlton hit the loud pedal, and grabbed the lead, and never looked back.

“The track was pretty fast, so I knew the start was crucial if we wanted to win the race,” Tarlton said.

Flawless aboard his Corporate Lending America/Tachi Palace and Casino/Tarlton and Son machine, Tarlton was never challenged for the lead, as passing was tough on the blazing fast 3/8 mile track.

When the checkered flag dropped Tarlton rolled his ‘black-magic’ machine into victory lane.

“We put a new together and it was awesome to drive,” he said. “Paul Baines and the boys have been doing a great job on both cars all year, so its great to reward them win a win.”

Friday night, the Tarlton Racing team was in action at the Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA, and it did not start out quite the way the team wanted.

Turning in a dismal qualifying effort, Tarlton and his Bandy and Associates/BG Lubricants/All Star Performance entry were behind the eight ball all night.

Starting eighth in his heat, Tarlton was on the wheel as he charged forward to a fourth place finish, putting him in the feature, but he would start in the 18th spot.

With a couple of charges from the rear of the field this season under his belt, Tarlton was poised to turn in another strong performance.

“We just missed it in qualifying, and it put us in the rear all night,” he said. “We had done it a few times already this year, so I knew we could still salvage the night.”

Salvage the night he did, as he again was up on the wheel for the 30-lap feature, going three wide at times, as he ‘bobbed and weaved’ his way through the field, and scored a sixth place finish.

“We had an awesome car in the main on Friday, and it was a blast to charge through the field like that,” he said. “John Prentice (track promoter) does a great job with the track, and it was really fun on Friday.”

Tarlton Racing would like to thank Corporate Lending America, Tachi Palace and Casino, Tarlton and Son, Bandy and Associates, Pro Signs, BG Lubricants, All Star Performance and Astro Titanium for their continued support.
