After taking a week off, the Rebel Cup Series roared back to life on Saturday night at the Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA, and it was Easton, CA pilot, Tommy Tarlton picking up the popular win.
Lining up on the front row with Visalia, CA driver, Steven Tiner, Tarlton got the jump when the green flag waved, and never looked back.
On the very fast racing surface, Tarlton worked the track to near perfection, though Tiner would make several attempts at getting under him but was unable to make anything stick, as his hands became full with Bud Kaeding.
From his second row starting spot, Kaeding continued to hound Tiner, in what was the best race on the track.
In heavy traffic, the San Jose, CA driver raced his way around Tiner to much of the crowd’s delight, only to see Tiner take the second spot back over just two laps later.
While Tarlton cruised to his first series win of the year, Tiner held off Kaeding, as Lemoore, CA’s Carson Macedo, and Fresno, CA driver, Steven Kent rounded out the top five.
In preliminary action, Kaeding set the standard in qualifications, as Kent and Dylan Black picked up heat race wins.
