Dodge City, KS — (June 11, 2013) — In little more than three weeks, the world’s best Sprint Car drivers will converge upon the southwest Kansas town of Dodge City for the annual World of Outlaws Boot Hill Showdown at Dodge City Raceway Park.
The only World of Outlaws appearance in the area for 2013 will be a two-night stand atop the 3/8-mile clay oval on Friday and Saturday, July 5-6 and reserved seating tickets are already going fast.
Advance tickets combos for both nights are available for $65 for reserved seats and just $50 for general admission. Single night tickets are $40 for reserved seats and $35 for general admission. Children’s tickets (12 and under) are $10 per night in general admission seating only.
Tickets may be ordered in advance by going to http://dirtcar.ticketforce.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=89.
With just eight more nights of WoO competition before settling into Dodge City for the Boot Hill Showdown, Owasso, OK, native Daryn Pittman retains the top spot in World of Outlaws points aboard the Kasey Kahne Racing No. 9 entry.
Pittman’s lead is far from secure though, as California native Paul McMahan and five-time and defending WoO champion Donny Schatz of Fargo, ND, are keeping Pittman within sight. Craig Dollansky has moved to fourth in points with back-to-back wins over the past weekend, with Sammy Swindell rounding out the current top five.
The balance of the current top ten in World of Outlaws points includes Joey Saldana, rookie contender David Gravel, Cody Darrah, 20-time “King of the Outlaws” Steve Kinser and Chad Kemenah.
The 2012 edition of the Boot Hill Showdown was an all-Kinser affair with Steve Kinser holding off Sammy Swindell to top the opening night before son Kraig Kinser wired the field in the Boot Hill Showdown finale. A winner at Middletown, NY, last month, Kraig Kinser is just outside the top ten in points in eleventh.
Jason Sides and Craig Dollansky topped Boot Hill Showdown features in 2011.
In addition to the much anticipated World of Outlaws Boot Hill Showdown on July 5-6, 18 scheduled nights of action at Dodge City Raceway Park over the course of 2013 features several special events including the TORC Off Road Trucks in April, a pair of $1,200-to-win IMCA Modified tilts in July along with USAC Sprint Cars on August 23-24 and four rounds of URSS Sprint Car competition along the way.
Dodge City Raceway Park is located on the south edge of Dodge City, KS, on US 283, then 0.9 miles west on US 56, then 0.1 miles south. For more information, contact the track at 620-225-3277 or check www.dodgecityraceway.com.
