Shaylen Raye Motorsports June 15th Results

Heading into next week and the Dirt Cup race at Skagit Speedway; the Shaylen Raye Motorsports #18 driven by Travis Jacobson feels solid and prepared.

“We’ve taken the last month or so and run the 410 Sprint Car as often as possible working on different car combinations and knowing what this car will do in different track conditions and race situations. We just got the WoO winning motor back and it may be better now than when we won with it late last year. The team has jelled and Travis is confident. I think we’ve got a chance to take this thing,” said team President Mike Anderson.

Last night at Skagit Speedway, the team brought the newly refreshed 410 to test late in the night, as well as get a suprise opportunity to shake down a big hitting Shark 360 for another race team. Travis set fast time for the night at 11.831 around the 3/10^th mile clay oval, then finished 3^rd in his heat earning a transfer to the A feature event. In the feature, two entirely different events defined the night. While running away with the feature; Travis tangled with a lapped car losing the lead for the moment, then saved the car with a nifty 360 gathering it back up enough to regain the lead before the start/finish stripe on the 12^th lap. Then while leading on lap 17, the u-joint gave way sending Travis up to the turn 2 wall and ending the night with a 16^th place finish.

The team immediately went to work swapping motors and putting the 410 into the 360 car for one last hot lap session at the end of the night. Over the course of those 8-10 laps, Travis was second fast but most consistantly running the same lap times as they broke in the new motor.
