Indianapolis, IN — (July 30, 2013) — STP®, one of the most recognizable brands in motorsports, and Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) announced today a joint-effort campaign that will make winners out of 15 lucky fans every time five-time and reigning World of Outlaws (WoO) STP Sprint Car Series champion Donny Schatz wins a WoO A-Feature event. The campaign begins with the upcoming Knoxville (Iowa) Nationals and continues through the season-ending World Finals in Charlotte.
“We always look for new ways to engage our fans with our marketing partners,” said Katina Wall, Brand Manager, STP. “Donny has everyone at STP excited about our racing programs across the board. He and the Tony Stewart Racing team have been winning a lot of races this season. With some of the season’s biggest WoO STP Sprint Car Series races coming up, we certainly hope to make some lucky fans even bigger winners every time he wins.”
The campaign calls for fans to enter their information through an online portal and then cheer Schatz on to victory. Within 48 hours of a victory, 15 lucky fans will be randomly chosen to receive a prize package that will include a “Winning with Donny Schatz & STP®” T-shirt, a bottle of new-to-market STP® Gas BoosterTM, Armor All® products and an autographed postcard from Schatz. Between Knoxville and Charlotte, there are 27 eligible races on the schedule and contestants are limited to winning one prize pack during the entire campaign. A top-wing sideboard from the TSR No. 15 STP racecar, signed by Schatz, is the grand prize to be given away at the culmination of the campaign. The grand-prize winner will be randomly selected from all entered contestants two days after the season finale.
Committed to motorsports, the STP® and Armor All® brands are in their sixth season partnering with TSR on the No. 15 racecar that Schatz has driven to three WoO championships and four Knoxville (Iowa) Nationals triumphs in the last five years. The brands are also committed to innovation and breakthrough technology that helps keep engines running strong. Earlier in 2013, STP launched its new product, STP® Gas BoosterTM, a concentrated fuel system treatment. STP® Gas BoosterTM is poured directly into the gas tank, and the two-ounce “shot” is designed to start working immediately to help restore lost power and performance.
In the last decade, no driver has been stronger at Sprint car racing’s biggest event, the Knoxville Nationals, than Schatz. He has won the event six times and finished first or second in 12 of the previous 14. This year, to help STP market its new product, Schatz will drive a STP® Gas BoosterTM-schemed No. 15 J&J in the 53rd annual FVP Knoxville Nationals, then again at the World Finals in November to close the season.
“The relationship we’ve had with the Armor All® and STP® brands has been really good since my first day with TSR,” said Schatz, who leads the series with 12 wins this season. “We hope to win as many races as we can, including the Knoxville Nationals. If we are winning, then fans are winning. We are all about wins from here on out so, obviously, we’re looking forward to getting this promotion started.”
