Selinsgrove, PA — (August 15, 2013) — Selinsgrove Speedway will present a four division show of 358 sprint cars, late models, pro stocks, and roadrunners at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 17, sponsored by Reinhart Food Service. Track gates will open at 5 p.m.
Entering the final stretch of the 2013 season, the point standings remain close in the track’s weekly divisions. The final points race of the season is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21.
Following his seventh win of the season last Saturday, defending champion Pat Cannon of Etters, who also clinched titles in 2008 and 2010, has taken over the lead in the A&A Auto Stores 358 sprint car standings. Cannon holds a mere 25-point advantage over 2004 champion and three-time winner Jason Shultz of Carlisle.
In the Jeff’s Auto Body & Recycling Center super late model division, eight-time champion and four-time winner Jeff Rine of Danville enters this weekend’s action with a 260-point lead over two-time winner Dylan Yoder of Selinsgrove.
Troy Miller of Tower City has a 30-point advantage in the pro stock standings over Kyle Bachman of Selinsgrove. Miller, the 2004, 2005, and 2008 track champion, is seeking his first win of the year, while Bachman, the 2003 champion, has been to Victory Lane four times this season.
In the roadrunner standings, five-time winner Brian Johnson of Ashland is on top by 90 points over two-time defending champion and four-time winner Bob Bussey of Northumberland.
World of Outlaw Late Model Series tickets for the upcoming two-day Late Model National Open on Saturday, Aug. 31, and Sunday, Sept. 1, are on sale in the track office on race days or by calling 570.374.2999.
Selinsgrove Raceway Park will present a program of go kart and micro sprint car racing at 7 p.m. this Friday, Aug. 16. Track gates will open at 5:30 p.m.
