Coming off his incredible victory in the Knoxville Nationals, Donny Schatz was looking to continue his winning ways behind the wheel of the Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) No. 15 STP/Armor All/Chevrolet Performance J&J. Friday night, he dominated the 40-lap A-Feature at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., leading from start to finish. It was his 15th WoO win of the season and 139th WoO A-Feature win of his career.  On Sunday, Schatz returned to his hometown of Minot and again found himself again in the hunt for victory. He qualified second and finished second in the dash and was running second most of the 35-lap A-Feature. The five-time champion seized the moment on lap 31 and led the final five laps to score his 16th win of the season and third in his last four starts.
LUCAS OIL ASCS
Jeff Swindell led the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV American Real back to Oklahoma Saturday night for a race at the Salina Highbanks. Swindell out dueled Jason Johnson by beating him through lapped traffic in the No. 94 Hedman Husler Headers/Mesilla Valley Transportation/H&H Container Services/Hammer Family & Friends J&J to score his fourth Protect the Harvest A-Feature win of 2013. The winning move was a classic as Swindell was able to get by not only Johnson by two lapped cars to take the lead.
“I’ll tell you, he got caught sitting in the wrong spot,” said Swindell. “I kept wanting to run the bottom there in one and two, but I was making a good line on the top down there, so, when we got to traffic again, I got caught a little bit with my shorts down. Jason got the bottom there in one and two and got back by me but man the next couple laps it was just slide job, after slide job.”
SPRINT INVADERS
Josh Schneiderman put on a show Friday night at Bloomfield (Iowa) Speedway winning the 25-lap Brockway Mechanical & Roofing Sprint Invaders main event. He drove the No. 2 World of Wheels/iconnectyou/Engler Injection J&J to victory.
“We had a good racecar all night long,” said Schneiderman. “I knew if I could get to the cushion, I could get those guys. I just drove her in there for all she was worth! The car just got better and better the harder I drove in there. I have to thank my guys. Dad was in a hospital bed two weeks ago fighting off a bacteria…it’s just good to have him back.”
