Oberlin, KS — (September 5, 2013) — Saturday night will be something new for Jake Bubak.
He only hopes the end result leads to another United Rebel Sprint Series victory.
The Rebels return to El Paso County Speedway in Calhan, Colo., for a wingless battle Saturday night.
Bubak hasn’t ran a non-wing show in the past, but he’s hoping his first experience will be a victorious one.
“I’m excited,” he said. “It should be fun.”
Bubak has three wins this season, including the Aug. 17 show in Calhan.
Saturday’s non-wing show should have fans on their feet in excitement. The small track features a unique design and high speeds.
“The front straightaway is really short,” Bubak said. “It kind of reminds me of Liberal. It’s just a big D like Liberal, only smaller. It’s almost like an extra corner on the back.”
Pits open at 1 p.m. Mountain time Saturday, with a drivers’ meeting at 2:30 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 3:30, with races following at 4:30.
