Bryan Clauson extended his AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car point lead to 13 points as a result of Saturday night’s 30-lap victory at Lawrenceburg (Ind.) Speedway. He will take that lead over Dave Darland into October 25-26 races at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz.
Clauson, of Noblesville, Ind., raked in the $10,000 winner’s share of Saturday’s “City of Lawrenceburg Fall Nationals,” leading the final 14 laps in his Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing Chevy Performance/Curb Records Beast/Kistler. Chase Stockon took second ahead of Darland, Kevin Thomas Jr. and Justin Grant.
Stockon led the first six laps, yielded to Darland on lap seven, then led the next nine before Clauson finally took over. The win was Clauson’s sixth in the AMSOIL National series this year and his 17th USAC feature win in all series.
The 13th USAC Hose Advantage Hall of Fame Classic at Peoria will be followed by the 2013 season finales November 1-2 – the 18th “Budweiser Oval Nationals” at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.
