Tulsa, OK — (October 8, 2013) — The Hose Advantage Store Southwest Region takes the spotlight this weekend at the Tucson International Raceway on Saturday, October 12 for the final time in 2013.
Logan Forler used his time off the road to capture the series victory on Saturday, October 5 at the Arizona Speedway and with this coming weekend serving as the final off weekend for the National Tour stands ready to take yet another win against the Hose Advantage Store Southwest Region.
Rick Ziehl continues his dominance of the series with a third place run this past weekend, extending his advantage in the season standings to 257 over Joshua Williams. Kaylene Verville holds third with Lance Norick rebounding back into the top five with a runner up finish at the Arizona Speedway this past weekend. Billy Chester completes the top five in driver standings.
After Saturday’s events at the Tucson International Raceway, only five dates remain for the Hose Advantage Store Southwest Region in 2013. The El Paso Speedway Park, Southern New Mexico Speedway, and Cocopah Speedway dot the map with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real National Tour joining the mix. The season finale will be at the Arizona Speedway.
In terms of Tucson, seven previous visits this season have yielded five winners. Brian Brown and Roger Crockett began the season with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real and Hose Advantage Store Southwest Region on February 22 and 23. Lorne Wofford captured back-to-back victories on April 6 and May 4 then backed up his Tucson consistency on June 1. Logan Forler pulled off the last corner pass on Rick Ziehl on June 29. The regional visit on September 14 ended with Rick Ziehl picking up his first win of the 2013 season at the Arizona oval.
Saturday, October 12 at the Tucson International Raceway will include USRA Modifieds, X-Mods, Factory Stocks, and Hornets. Racing is scheduled to begin at 6:30 P.M. (MT). For more information, log onto http://www.tucsoninternationalraceway.com.
