With 32 cars on hand, Dewease set the standard in time trials, as his 13.132 second lap was at the top of the speed chart, giving him quick time honors.

Scoring a third place finish in his heat, Dewease transferred to the feature event, and the six car inversion put the Pro Shocks/Wings Unlimited/BMRS backed entry in the third row for the 40-lap contest.

When the race went green, Dewease was on his game, as he worked up to the front, as he ran in the third spot, as a blanket could be thrown over the lead battle.

In what was a five car battle for the lead at times, Dewease grabbed the lead on the 13th lap, but lost it a lap later as a hard charging Brian Montieth got past both him and second running Fred Rahmer to take the top spot.

Running in the second spot to Montieth, Dewease did everything he could to keep up with him, but Montieth was simply too good on this night, and Dewease settled for second at the stripe ahead of Fred Rahmer.

“We had a really good car all night long,” Dewease said. “We timed in very well, and ran great in the feature, but Montieth was the class of the field, and we ended up second.”
