ENUMCLAW, Wash. (Oct. 29, 2013) – Henry Van Dam will pull double duty this weekend in California.Henry Van Dam (33v), Danny Jennings (1J), and Jonathan Cornell (

Van Dam will make his debut at Stockton 99 Dirt Track in Stockton, Calif., on Saturday for his first-ever King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series race. He will also compete in the 360ci class at the Tribute to Gary Patterson event.

“We’ll pull the spare car from up front and put the 410 engine in it,” he said. “I talked to a couple of guys and they said the track was pretty good so we’ll have to see. I think in our 360 we can be pretty competitive, so we’re definitely shooting for a top five there. In our 410 stuff, if we can get a top 10 I think we can be pretty happy with that.”

Following Saturday’s race Van Dam will continue south to Arizona for the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour season finale at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz., Nov. 8-9. It marks Rounds 3 and 4 of the Cocopah Cup Challenge, which is capped by a $20,000-to-win event.

In addition to competing for the hefty prize, Van Dam said he is going to support promoter Greg Burgess, who used to run the ASCS Northwest Region for several years while Van Dam competed on the tour.

“That’s a big part of it, to help Greg out,” Van Dam said. “He said he was going to go down there and be aggressive at promoting and he has. He’s a role model for other promoters as far as doing things to get us big races. If he can do it in the middle of nowhere our promoters around here should be able to.”

Van Dam finished sixth and 12th, respectively, with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour at Cocopah Speedway earlier this season.
