With last weekends debut being rained out aboard his Jason McDonald owned No. 29 machine, Ian Madsen and visited the familiar Valvoline Raceway, formerly known as the Sydney Speedway, and picked up the very popular win, his 13th overall in 2013.
“I can’t thank this entire team enough,” Madsen said. “Jason McDonald has put together a top notch team, and Dave Sharman did an amazing job getting everything together, and we were bad fast Saturday.”
Starting in the second row of his first heat race, the St. Mary’s, NSW driver had his elbows up aboard his Watson’s Express Transport/Eagle Motorsports/Lucas Oil Q29 machine, and picked up the win.
In his second heat, Madsen lined up in the seventh position, and charged forward to secure a second place finish, putting him in the fifth row for the feature event.
Just like he did last year, Madsen found a way to charge to the front at the track he had so much success at last season.
Running the ragged edge, Madsen went toe to toe with some of the country’s top shoes, and surged around them all as he took command of the race on the 21st lap.
Out in front, Madsen was never seriously challenged as he cruised to the very popular win.
“Dave Sharman and Clinton McKenize had this thing perfect all night,” Madsen said. “The Eagle Chassis was really good, and I am just so pumped to get Jason McDonald a win as a car owner. I think we have really good team, and it should be a fun season down here.”
None of this would be possible without a ton of support, and Madsen would like to thank Eagle Motorsports, East Coast Logistics, Watson’s Express Transport, Lucas Oil , Interstate Finance and Leasing, Gin Gin Diesel, Adornato Sand and Gravel, QSS Spares, Oval Express, Inglis Race Engines, and Factory Kahne Shocks for everything they will be doing for this team.
