– Unfortunately, during one of the busiest and biggest weeks of the Australian season, Ian Madsen had one of those weeks that leaves you scratching your head, and wondering what went wrong.
“We just seemed to have bad luck, or struggle a little bit starting back at the Darley,” Madsen said. “We have had bad luck all year, and unfortunately in a really big week, it continued, but like I’ve said all year, my team sticks with me and continues to give 100% on a nightly basis.”
Taking part in the Darley Challenge, President Cup, King’s Challenge and the Grand Annual Classic over the past week, Madsen and his McDonald Motorsports team were unable to pick up the results that they were hoping for, making it a bitter pill to swallow, as they now focus on their next task at hand.
With the week in the rearview mirror, Madsen and his team will take another big race this weekend, and that is the Australian Championship in Tasmania, AU.
“Though it was not the showing we wanted at the Classic, our guys will hunker down and get ready for the Australian Championship,” Madsen said. “We still will give it everything we have to stand on top of the podium at one of our biggest races of the year.”
None of this would be possible without a ton of support, and Madsen would like to thank Watson’s Express Transport, Eagle Motorsports, East Coast Logistics, Lucas Oil , Interstate Finance and Leasing, Gin Gin Diesel, Adornato Sand and Gravel, QSS Spares, Oval Express, Inglis Race Engines, and Factory Kahne Shocks for everything they will be doing for this team.
2013 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-11, Wins-0, Top-5’s- 2, Top 10’s-4
